Everyone is saying the same thing about Trent Alexander-Arnold’s performance against Man City

Trent Alexander-Arnold has a heavy pocket right now.

Leroy Sane wasn’t given an inch tonight as Liverpool beat Manchester City 3-0 in their Champions League quarter-final first leg at Anfield.

The City winger, who has destroyed almost every other right back this season, was marshalled superbly by the Reds’ 19-year-old right-back.

Alexander-Arnold, or TAA as he’s referred to by Liverpool fans, was highlighted as a possible weakness in Jurgen Klopp’s side for City to exploit before kick-off.

Speaking on BT Sport before the match, Steven Gerrard labelled it as the “the biggest game of his career.”

The Liverpool legend had his doubts about the youngster, following some individual mistakes against the likes of Marcus Rashford and Wilfried Zaha, but it’s safe to say he passed the Sane test with flying colours.

Easy workAFP or licensors

The German winger has traumatised Kieran Trippier, Hector Bellerin and Seamus Coleman in the Premier League this season but TAA kept him on a leash, much to enjoyment of the home crowd.

Alexandre-Arnold’s performance shouldn’t be overshadowed by impressive showings from Oxlade-Chamberlain and Mohamed Salah.

The right-back also became the youngest Englishman to ever start a Champions League quarter-final.

How Trent Alexander-Arnold handled Leroy Sane like that, City's most dangerous player tonight, for 90 minutes was a amazing.

Trent Alexander-Arnold MOTM. That’s how you pocket Leroy Sane

My man of the match goes to Trent Alexander-Arnold. He was absolutely brilliant. A real superstar in the making! UP THE REDS!

TAA MoTM?

Awesome display.

He LEARNED from the 4-3.

Fairplay to TAA today, had my doubts, but this has been nothing but a 10/10 performance. 19-years-old and he’s managed to keep out an in-form Leroy Sané. Time and time again this is said, but what a future he has.

TAA is 8 years younger and was £50m cheaper than Kyle Walker and he's twice the right back.
