This first touch from Romelu Lukaku is so bad… it’s almost good.
Man United came from a goal down to beat Spurs 2-1 at Wembley in the FA Cup semi-final courtesy of their centre-forward’s inability to control a simple pass.

With all to play for at 1-1, Alexis Sanchez played the ball to Lukaku at the edge of Spurs’ box.
The Belgian target man failed to get a significant touch on the ball and could only look on as it rolled away him.
However, Lukaku’s flick took just enough pace off it for Ander Herrera to run onto the loose ball and fire low past Michel Vorm.

Textbook.
United fans won’t care at all about how the goal came about of course.
At the end of the day the score reads 2-1 to United and Lukaku has an assist to add to his tally.
Jose Mourinho’s troops showed good character to come from behind to ensure their place in the final.
Paul Pogba impressed in midfield, providing a wonderful assist to Sanchez for United’s equaliser.

Herrera’s tenacity helped to nullify Spurs’ threat in the second half while Chris Smalling and Phil Jones barely gave Harry Kane a sniff of the ball.
Deserved winners on the day, United will fancy their chances of lifting the trophy on May 19th.
As for Spurs, it’s another season without any silverware to show for their efforts…
