FIFA 18: 23 Premier League players have just had their FIFA ratings upgraded

The first wave of FIFA 18 players to have their ratings upgraded have been released by EA Sports.

Among the Premier League stars to receive boosts in the FIFA 18 Ratings Refresh include Liverpool hero Mo Salah and Spurs’ striker Harry Kane.

Kane jumps a massive two points from 86 to 88 – with his shooting rising from 87 to 89.

Salah and Kane lead the charge in the first wave of upgraded players

Salah, meanwhile, who was unlucky to not get a spot in the Team of the Year, jumps from 83 to 85 – with shooting boosted from 73 to 77.

Other notable upgrades include City keeper Ederson who climbs from 83 to 84 – and Chelsea’s Alvaro Morata and Eden Hazard – who both jump one point.

Earlier in the week, EA Sports confirmed hundreds of players will have their FIFA 18 ratings permanently changed to reflect their real-life form.

The Vancouver-based developer employs a team of data collectors who have been keeping a close eye on some of the world’s biggest stars.

Of course, any change in rating will affect the player price – ultimately causing instability in the market.

Players who see their ratings slashed will likely fall in price, while those with increased scores will see their values soar.

Sevilla 0-0 Manchester United: De Gea Saves Mourinho's Gameplan as Red Devils Take Clean Sheet
Jose Mourinho and his Manchester United bus rolled into Seville on Wednesday night as the Red Devils held Vincenzo Montella's men to a bore draw.  Despite having plenty of the ball, and dominating the match stats over 90 minutes with over 25 shots, Sevilla failed to make the most of their home advantage, and were frustratingly forced into the return leg at Old Trafford with the aggregate score goalless. Sevilla came into the game most likely unaware that Ray Wilkins had likened them to a...

Alexis Sanchez equalled his own woeful Man United record in Newcastle defeat

It’s not gone well for Alexis Sanchez since his move to Manchester United, has it?

The forward joined Jose Mourinho’s side from Arsenal in a straight swap for Henrikh Mkhitaryan in January, but has failed to really justify his £350,000-a-week wages so far.

And in today’s 1-0 defeat to Newcastle, the Chilean reached a whole new level of bad by losing possession a record-equalling (for him, anyway) 36 times in the match.

He also gave the ball away 36 times in the win over Huddersfield, and he’s dangerously close to breaking Nani’s long-standing record of giving the ball away 38 times in the 3-2 defeat to Blackburn Rovers back in 2011.

Sanchez grabbed his first United goal from a rebounded penaltyReuters

Prior to his move to Old Trafford, he had a bit of a reputation for losing possession.

In fact, no Premier League player has lost possession on more occasions than Sanchez since he arrived on these shores in 2014.

That sorry fact has seemingly continued at United, with Sanchez losing possession a staggering 125 times in just four appearances, which is an average of every 2.7 minutes.

That’s not good.

While Mourinho has never been a particularly possession-obsessed coach, he’ll be more than a little dismayed to learn that his marquee January signing has lost possession over twice as much as the next worst offender at the club, which is Antonio Valencia.

Oh, if that wasn’t bad enough, Sanchez also did this in today’s game.

Jamie Carragher Claims Current Liverpool Team Are Better Than 2005's Champions League Winners
Ex-Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has gone out on a limb with claims of the current Reds side being better than the one that won the Champions League under Rafa Benitez in 2005. The Anfield side are back in Europe's top contest and will be facing Porto in the first leg of their round of 16 tie next week. And Carragher, while acknowledging that his former team are 'big outsiders', still feels that they could pull off a Champions League miracle this season. Yes, Liverpool are big outsiders...

Lothar Matthäus Wants Germany Coach Joachim Löw as Next FC Bayern München Manager
Football pundit and former player Lothar Matthäus wants Joachim Löw to become the next manager of FC Bayern München, should Jupp Heynckes leave as planned. Heynckes came out of retirement for his third full-time stint with the German champions in early October, taking over from Carlo Ancelotti. The 72-year-old won the treble with Bayern - the first and only German club to do so - and has led the club to an unsurmountable lead at the summit. Already, there is speculation die Roten wish to keep...

Watford put in a dominant display from start to finish as they netted four times against Chelsea's Belgium keeper. However, the home side hit back instantly with three goals in quick succession to earn themselves a deserved victory.
